One Command Ahead wiki
Every block has a purpose.
A quick reference for the current development build. New commands become available as you progress.
MOVE NKeep going.
Walk forward the selected number of spaces in the direction the robot faces. It won’t automatically avoid gaps, walls, or obstacles.
TURN LEFT / RIGHTA fresh perspective.
Rotate 90 degrees on the current space. Turning changes the robot’s facing direction without moving it.
JUMP 2Mind the gap.
Jump across a missing space to a landing two spaces ahead. Plan a safe landing; jumping clears gaps, not walls.
U-TURNAbout face.
Turn 180 degrees in one block. A useful shortcut when your plan doubles back.
REPEAT N … ENDA good idea, again.
Run the enclosed commands a selected number of times. Use a loop when the same pattern appears more than once in your route.
DUCK NKeep a low profile.
Crouch-walk the selected number of spaces under head-height lasers.
SLIDE NPut some momentum into it.
Glide low under lasers. The current build requires a MOVE command immediately before the slide.
INTERACTSay hello.
Use the object directly in front of the robot. Position and facing both matter. Some old equipment may have more to say than you expect.
The depot
The starting palette keeps things simple. Between levels, spend earned credits on additional commands. Availability changes with your progress; the depot shows what you own and what you can unlock next.
Battery-aware planning
Later courses add a battery. Movement and actions use energy, while ordinary left and right turns are free. The shortest-looking route may need a detour to collect an energy cell. Check the in-game energy preview as you plan.
